American Renal Opens New Facility in Illinois

DANVERS, MA – The founders of American Renal Associates Inc. (“ARA”) today announced the opening of a new facility located in South Barrington, Illinois. The facility is a 10-station clinic located at 33 W. Higgins Road in South Barrington and will offer all treatment modalities including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis training and support.

Syed Kamal, co-founder and Executive Vice President of ARA, stated, “We are pleased that the facility is open and we look forward to working with Dr. Mohammad Zahid as the Medical Director in South Barrington. Dr. Zahid is a prominent nephrologist in the Elgin area whom we are excited to be working with in this state-of-the-art facility. South Barrington is the first of several locations under development in Illinois that ARA will manage, and we look forward to making outpatient dialysis more available to dialysis patients in Illinois in new, modern and convenient locations.”

Mohammad Zahid, M.D., a specialist in kidney disease who has practiced in the northeast area of Illinois since 1987, said, “I look forward to working with ARA and providing care to patients in the greater South Barrington area who require dialysis. I believe ARA is focused on providing quality care and services to kidney dialysis patients.”

ARA’s main focus is the development of new start-up (de novo) treatment facilities in partnership with physicians, and the acquisition of existing dialysis units in selective strategic markets.
