American Renal Acquires Boca Raton Facility DANVERS, MA - American Renal Associates Inc. (“ARA”) today announced the acquisition of Renal Associates of Boca Raton (RABR) a 21 station outpatient dialysis facility in Boca Raton, Florida that currently treats over 100 dialysis patients.
The acquisition creates a partnership going forward between ARA and Dr. Ira L. Lazar, Medical Director of RABR, and also calls for additional facility development in the future. “I am very pleased to be working with American Renal Associates,” said Dr. Ira Lazar, a nephrologist and Medical Director of the Boca Raton Florida facility. “ARA is a company that supports nephrologists and facility staff by bringing forth the benefits of a large organization, while recognizing the importance of local input and control. ARA is a fast growing company with a solid reputation.” Chris Ford, Chief Executive Officer of ARA, commented, “We are extremely excited by the opportunity to add the RABR facility to our network and begin working together with Dr. Lazar and his management team to provide quality care to patients who require kidney dialysis treatment. Dr. Lazar and Sue Rottura (Administrator) are true dialysis professionals with an excellent reputation for providing high quality care to their patients, and we look forward to having their expertise as part of the ARA system.” ARA’s main focus is to develop new start-up (de novo)
treatment facilities in partnership with physicians and to acquire existing
dialysis units in selective strategic markets. The new partnership will
explore such opportunities.
